The Children's Organ Transplant Association does not charge for its services -- 100% of funds raised in honor of patients are available for transplant-related expenses.
Extensive Volunteer Training Program
With 25 years of experience, COTA has the expertise to help volunteers be successful. COTA provides ongoing support to community campaign volunteers and patient families.
Stewardship of the Funds and Non-Profit Status
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association is a national, non-profit organization. COTA is responsible for fundraising campaign oversight, and serves as steward of funds raised.
Funds Available for Patients' Transplant-Related Expenses
100% of the funds raised through the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in honor of patients are available for transplant-related expenses before, during and after the transplant.
Funds Raised Are Not Taxable and Will Not Jeopardize Assistance Programs
Throughout the community fundraising campaign, the Children’s Organ Transplant Association provides printed materials, telephone support, media and publicity resources, training meetings, no-cost websites and web-based fundraising materials. Although the active community fundraising typically lasts less than a year, COTA’s relationship with the family spans the lifetime of the patient.
Funds Raised Are Not Taxable and Will Not Jeopardize Assistance Programs
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association is the recipient and steward of all funds; so families are not taxed on these funds nor do these funds jeopardize assistance program participation.

Funds Available for Patients’ Transplant-Related Expenses
Funds raised through the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in honor of patients are available for ongoing transplant-related expenses – including post-transplant expenses.
Management of the Funds Raised
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association does not charge for its services, and provides families and donors the assurance that funds will be used appropriately.
Extensive Volunteer Support
Customized guidance and programs are developed to meet the unique needs of each community volunteer group. COTA’s staff provides practical solutions to fundraising challenges.
Weekly Processing of Expense Payments
Patient families submit their payment requests to the Children's Organ Transplant Association. Requests are processed every week. COTA staff are available 24-hours-a-day to assist with medical emergencies.
Flexible Services Available at No Cost
The Children's Organ Transplant Association program is flexible -- COTA assists families regardless of their need or the type of support they require.
