Update on Addilyn

Good morning friends and family! I just want to give a quick update on Addilyn. A few weeks ago she had an MRI to look at some suspicious spots in her liver. The doctors ended up finding cancer. She has been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma. With her poor liver health and now this cancer diagnosis, her doctors are now more than ever working quickly to get her to transplant. Addi had a full week of tests and was so flexible even when more tests and pokes had to be added that we didn’t expect. Her evaluation was completed yesterday and she is being presented at the transplant team round table today. She will be more than likely listed for transplant by next Friday. Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for our family through this crazy time. Thank you to all our family and friends who brought us meals and goodies, watched our boys and sat with us through meeting after meeting down at Children’s. We appreciate you more than you will ever know!

We really loved what the transplant coordinator said during our time at Children’s on Thursday. “For the past 6 years we have been waiting for Addi to get worse. Now we can look forward to her getting better!” She has been so strong through all of this! She still has a ways to go but we are closer than we were yesterday. After transplant she will finally be able to feel well! We just can’t wait!
