Miles is a BIG BROTHER

On June 9, 2016 we were blessed with another baby boy Logan!!

Our family is definitely going through major changes in our life style and learning how to juggle a newborn with a heart toddler is challenging. We make sure we don’t forget about Miles and his needs and also keep a close eye on Logan since we don’t know if he will develop a heart condition. As of right now, Logan is fine and his heart shows no signs and all we need to do is monitor him and if anything seems out of the ordinary, we will see the MD.

Miles has been the sweetest big brother, throwing away diapers, getting the pacifier, helping the baby stop crying, and starting to play more with him. He cannot until Logan gets older so he can play with him.

Miles only gets jealous when I feed Logan, since he knows we feed him quite often so he wants the attention. We explain to Miles very slowly and repeat to him that we have to fee Logan and that I will play with him when I am done. So right now getting Miles attention and playing with him is very important.

Miles has been more energetic than ever since the baby was born, he climbs and jumps everywhere. So now we have to WATCH him at all times since he is always getting hurt as boys will be boys and letting him no his boundaries. So we are constantly telling him “NO” which is hard.

Miles is still in Speech and Occupation Therapy which he is doing very well. At least every week he learns a new word and learning new skills like colors and counting. He is not talking just yet, but improving so we have high hopes his talking will come soon. Even though we do worry all the time, we know he is on track with his health and milestones with someone in his condition.

We are currently transitioning him into pre-school so he can continue his speech and occupational services so are moving into new territory and we are super nervous. We are proud Miles has accomplished so much and that he is able to be move onto this next phase of his life. I never thought I would be the Mom who cries when there kid goes to school, but I am definitely a heart mom that is VERY VERY nervous and happy at the sametime.

Thank you all again for your continued prayers and support and continue to keep you updated.
