Dr. Elder-Alex’s Endocrinologist = determination and absolute definitive results. There is never a question if something is going to happen or be successful with Dr. Elder. She makes mountains move for her patients, including Alex. She is most impressive with her dedication and determination throughout this entire process. She is the “islet cell charmer”, and apparently Alex’s are being charmed!!! She was able to tweak his insulin once again, and has been able to decrease not only the constantly infused insulin, but also the amount of insulin needed to be bolused in relation to the amount of carbohydrates being consumed to a very small amount. She is pretty confident that within the next couple of months Alex will no longer require insulin boluses for carbohydrates being consumed, and that he could possibly even eventually come off the pump completely!!! Bravo Dr. Elder!!! You rock!!
