Unfortunately Alex is having some issues with consistently higher than normal glucose, and is now requiring more than just periodic insulin boluses.  He is back on a continuous insulin basal rate via his pump as of last night.  We always knew this was a possibility, continue to remain hopeful, and truly still feel so extremely blessed.  

He is continuing to have the same GI issues (we are told some of this is common with post-TPIAT patients), but has been able to attend half days of school on more of a regular basis.  He is attending physical therapy twice a week locally (in South Bend), and we are so very excited to have found his Physical Therapist, Melissa Shay.  She is absolutely phenomenal!

We continue to follow-up and remain in close contact with all specialties, and return for a recheck in Cincinnati on November 8th.
