Big day today-Alex is out of the ICU!!!  He is now on the Endocrine (diabetes) floor.  His drains were pulled, his Freestyle Libre continuous glucose monitor is on and functioning, his insulin pump has been applied, and he is even doing his blood glucose finger pricks happily and all by himself with his Genteel Lancet device (it’s seriously amazing!!!).  This is huge for the kiddo who has a serious needle phobia!!  (The Genteel uses depth control and vacuum to draw test blood with less discomfort. If you’re diabetic and hate the constant finger pricks, check it and the Freestyle Libre out!!)

Alex has continued to sit up with less effort and discomfort, and walked about 30 feet twice today!!

I am beyond proud, relieved, and amazed!!!
