Our Story

TIME TO CELEBRATE!

Annabelle has her new liver!

Her transplant day was Thursday, August 10, 2017!

She is now back home!

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. In High Point, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local infant, Annabelle Grace McKinney.

Annabelle is the daughter of Charity and Mike McKinney. Born in 2016, Annabelle was diagnosed with Propionic Acidemia. The doctors at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania have recommended a life-saving liver transplant. An estimated $50,000 is being raised by High Point volunteers.

  7. Hi Miss Annabelle. My name is Sharon and I just want to tell you and your mommy and daddy that you gave picked an awesome hospital with an awesome group of surgeons and nurses and healthcare team. My little girl also had a liver transplant at Children’s almost 14 years ago. Her name is Sarah Harris and we still visit for her yearly check up. In fact we just went end of August.
