Well, we waited about 6 weeks and our miracle came. At 1pm Friday march 29th, we were told a potential heart was found for Miles. We were absolutely shocked and excited a match was finally found and we can now stop holding our breathe.
The process of getting the heart here is complicated so we were told we didn’t know when the heart will arrive and when Miles will go down for surgery.
Hours passed and we were told there was a weather delay so the surgery would have to wait until the next day. So we rested that night and was able to hold him and just be with him before he goes into surgery.

At 7:05am Anesthesia came to assess him and get him ready to go down to the OR. We said our good-byes to Miles and have him a kiss. We were told the heart will arrive 10:45am so right now it’s just a waiting game. We sat patiently waiting in the family room and ate food with family and friends and waited for the next update.
The causally surgery of the new heart being transferred was probably about 11am.
At 2:30pm we were told surgery went well and he will be getting transport back to ICU floor.

At 4:15pm we were able to see him, which was a huge reliefs. Walking up to his room was exciting and when we saw him, he looked very good then I expected. He had great color, the tube coming out from his chest were not bad and he just looked so much better then we were told. All the nurses and doctors said he is a ROCK STAR and that he took everything very well. His sick heart was so big, they had a easy time putting the new heart in and closing his chest.

It’s truly been a blessing and all the prayers to have this great miracle happen so quickly. Miles has reached his 24hour period after surgery and so far he looks great.
