There’s a lot of money on the line. In the first six months of fundraising, if our team has raised $25,000-$49,999, then COTA will add $2500 from the challenge grant.  If our team raises $50,000 or more by March 10th, then COTA will add $5,000 from the challenge grant.  Our 6 months ends on March. 10th. We’ve raised $20,000+ but we’ve got a long ways to go.

COTA reviewed Nolan’s situation and recommended that we set a goal of $50,000. While he does have insurance, it doesn’t cover Amy’s missed work, travel, lodging, co-pays, deductibles, etc. COTA has already been able to help Amy cover expenses that are putting a strain on their household.

I appreciate all that you’ve done to support the fundraising thus far. It has been overwhelming and exhausting at times but also exhilarating. While I know everyone’s time and money are limited, I’d like to ask each of you to consider putting aside some time over the next 2 months and commit to a project to support COTA in honor of Nolan. There is a list of fundraising possibilities. In particular, sponsoring a restaurant, selling paper icons for a bulletin board, sponsoring a ’31’, ‘LuLuRue’ or other party and donating the proceeds to CotaforNolanT.com or sharing on social media can be relatively easy things to do. I’m happy to support you in your efforts and can provide marketing materials for your project. Amy also has some ideas and resources.

I’ve designated this ‘The year of the kidney’. While we can’t determine when Nolan will receive his kidney, we can make sure that he and Amy don’t have to worry about the financial side of this difficult time.
