Today is very sobering.  Today is January 3, 2015   One year ago on January 3, 2014, Porter was admitted into UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC for heart failure.   Many of you cannot image what Porter or our family has been through and we can never expect anybody to understand or image what we have gone through. 

DEEP THOUGHT : A year……….what is a year?   365 days or 8760 hours or 525,600 minutes or…………

A year for Porter is spending every day in a hospital room.   A year is spending 5 months in Chapel Hill, NC and 7 months at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston TX.

A year is wondering each day if your will be able to hold your son in your arms again.   See his smile.  Hold his hand.   Feel his hand wrap around your fingers.   Have him look at you in happy wonder.  Witness him roll over or even hold a toy in his hand.  See his eyes light up when his brother talks to him.  Watch him interact with his grandparents.   A year……..A year…. Think about a year.

Our New Year is now looking hopefully forward at bring Porter home…..to our house.  Bring our family back together under one roof.   Enjoy our life with the family and friends who supported us over the past year.  A year…….just think about what happened over the past year.
