So, Alyssa’s AFB smear came back positive for micro bacterium. The doctors aren’t sure yet what they are going to try. This is the same infection she was on IV antibiotics for just 5 short weeks ago. The antibiotics make her feel worse than the infection does. Right now she feels ok. She is running almost daily. The only I’ll effects are that she is coughing up blood upon occasion. However, they wouldn’t put her on the list until she had a negative smear. So we’re back to the waiting game. She is still active on the list for now and we hope it stays that way.
