Amy update from Crystal: Amy’s still improving every day, but it’s a very slow process, with a lot of risks along the way. I had to suit up again tonight to go in her room, because she’s receiving meds via nebulizer that wouldn’t be good for me to inhale. The nurse said she’s on a high dose of steroids that make her a little loopy, but she seems to understand what people are saying for the most part. The nurse also said they’re taking her off the ventilator for longer stretches of time, which is another good sign. All in all, it’s such a relief to see Amy reacting to what I’m saying and trying to respond, even if she still can’t talk because of the tracheotomy tube in her throat. Thoughts and prayers are still needed in high doses.
