They got her lungs!
Amy is out of surgery, which was apparently tough because of how infected and inflamed her old lungs were, and she needed several blood transfusions during surgery. Her new lungs kicked in right away, so the doctors are confident she will be okay, but they have to watch how she does for the next few days. They will have to wake her up slowly.
She is alive, the infected lungs are gone, and she is breathing, which is better than her situation 24 hours ago. It has been a long and stressful road up to this point, but chance and luck are less of a factor now. She is one of the strongest people I have ever known, and I think she will power through recovery like she has every other obstacle in her life.
Hopefully we will get to hear her voice again very soon. Please keep Amy and her family in your thoughts.
