Daniel is out from his heart catheterization and there is some good news to report concerning the items we have been praying about.

1. A successful catheterization without complications during the biopsy and without complication from the endoscopy from the GI team.

The heart catheterization went well without any complications or problems. He had the procedure with light sedation and did not require deep sedation. The GI team’s endoscopy was postponed till later because they did not want to have to use a tube to breathe for Dan.

2. Good results from the biopsy and a good report on the functioning if the right side of his new heart.

Won’t know the biopsy results till tomorrow but the great news is that the heart is functioning well. The biopsy results will not be in till tomorrow evening.

3. Continued wisdom for doctors and staff on how tho best treat the problems he is having related to weakness, fatigue, poor appetite, his lungs and deeper breathing.

His repeat chest x-ray showed that he has fluid and maybe even an area where the lung isn’t open on the left lung. This can be causing the increased work of breathing and need for oxygen. We will be trying to walk him around more, getting him up out of the chair, opening his lungs with some incentive spirometry basically breathe exercises

4. Our family at home, Tina and I here, and Tina’s mom who has been helping keep the home running. Dan has required constant assistance with his care and we are exhausted so he must be exhausted from the process.

We both stayed with him last night but Tina will rest at hotel tonight and i’ll stay to assist Daniel. Dan slept after the cath for about 2 hours and I squeezed in a nap with him.

5. We were hoping to be discharged this week but things are looking very different from one week ago.
