Our Story

Our sweet Elijah has had his new liver for 18 months!

We are happy to report that he is happy, growing, and overall healthy over a year later.  He continues to have frequent hospitalizations, lots of doctor visits, and multiple medications twice a day, every day, for the rest of his life.

To help off-set the cost of his transplant-related expenses, our family has been partnering with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, a wonderful non-profit that assists with fundraising for medical expenses and provides grants to families who need it.

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families (Like ourselves) are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. In Phoenix and in San Francisco, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local infant, Elijah Velazquez.
