We have some great news! Earlier this month Levi’s Uncle Joel was cleared as a match to donate a kidney to Levi. Joel is Andrew’s brother and lives in Orlando with his wife Amy and their two children, Chloe and Micah. Joel and Amy work for Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ). Joel works on the Jesus film as a sound technician and Amy works for the IT department.

We are currently waiting on all of the details to come together in terms of a date for transplant and any kind of preparations we need to make. We would love your prayers for Joel and his family. It will be a definite physical toll on Joel. We have learned through this process that the recovery for the donor is often more difficult than that of the recipient. Amy will have a hefty task of not only caring for their two children but Joel as well who will have some lifting and driving restrictions for a while.

We are SO thankful to have a living donor for Levi. It is certainly an answer to prayer. We have learned that often living donor kidneys last longer and the actual transplant process is smoother. So naturally we have prayed for this for Levi. But we also know that both the donor and the recipient being healthy is key for the day of surgery. So please pray that everyone stays healthy in the weeks leading up to the transplant.

Finally, as I said before we are waiting for final details to come together. Pray that we are patient in the waiting for details and that everything would come together in God’s timing.
