Back Home

Allie and Scott are back home, reunited with their little boy.  She’s doing well and is getting settled in their apartment.  Blake is a busy little 16 month old, such a happy little guy.  I’m thankful that only 4 months after transplant she’s back home with him.  Her kidneys are stressed from the various medications she needs to take daily but hopefully this is just another hurdle she’ll get past.  We go back to Pittsburgh this week for chest xray, blood work, PFTs, a clinic appointment, a bronchoscopy and biopsy to check for infection and rejection.  This is one of many routine surveillence procedures. We’ll be there a few days and return home.

Thank you again to everyone who gave from their hearts, all the donations and support given to COTA in honor of Allie, her family and all of her extended family members.  A special thank you to Maria and Kristina Shamp who did so much to care for Blake and make the COTA fundraisers successful.  Words are not enough to express my gratitude to them and to all of you, and to Allie’s donor and family.
