So we have been through both ends of the spectrum as far as planning out our lives. Our initial admit date was this past week, however due to unforeseen circumstances being donor #1 became temporarily unavailable until October, the procedure will now be set back.

The next day Jace came down with Pink Eye and needed to be put on additional antibiotics. That was a rough few days because an eye infection is the last thing we needed. Simple infections like Pink Eye are usually not an issue for a healthy kiddo, but we have to be extra careful with Jace because he is unable to fight off infections as efficiently. We got that infection cleared up pretty quickly, and we headed back up to Stanford for a platelet transfusion yesterday. 

To keep things moving forward, earlier this week our transplant team reached out to two other possible donors to see if any were available sooner. As luck would have it, we have a donor lined up already! They were able to expedite the donor work-ups so we could get to transplant sooner. We have a new admit date that is less than two weeks away! Our current admit date is 8/25 with transplant being on 9/7, bearing in mind that until the cells are being transfused, these dates could still change (Hopefully not though!!). We are so thankful to have such an amazing team of doctors, nurses and coordinators helping us prepare for Jace’s bone marrow transplant, and for the love and support of all our friends and family. Without all of you this whole experience would be so much harder.
