Our Story

Kate is currently a junior in high school and loves to read and make music. She has a passion for singing in her school choir and has performed live both as a soloist and fronting a rock band. She's a dedicated student and looking forward to college. She adores her dog Sully.

In October of 2016, Kate was diagnosed with a stage IV neuroendocrine cancer of the pancreas which had spread to her liver. The tumor in her pancreas was surgically removed, and she's been on chemotherapy for the last year, which has kept the cancer confined to her liver. The tumors in her liver are not operable - a liver transplant offers her her only possibility of a cure. During the year of chemotherapy, she has remained active in school and choir and shown remarkable strength and calm far beyond her years. In October of 2017, she was approved for transplant.

A liver transplant recipient must be monitored and remain on immunosuppressive drugs for life. The fundraising goal is intended to provide funds not...
