Caidyn was born on Oct. 20, 1999. We were notified shortly after her birth that she had multiple birth defects that were associated with VACTERLS. VACTERLS stands for Vertebra, Anal, Cardiac, Trachea, Esohogus, Renal, Limbs and Single Umbilical Cord. Caidyn had 7 out of the 8 areas.
