Ariana is a beautiful 8-year-old that looks like a healthy little girl. Unfortunately for her and her family she has a rare heart condition that required her to have 3 open-heart surgeries and now has received a heart transplant which was an amazing blessing! We are forever indebted and grateful to her donor family. Due to the severe complexities of Ariana\u2019s heart, surgical repair was not an option! Without a transplant Ariana\u2019s heart failure would have gotten worse. Although receiving a heart transplant is an amazing opportunity, it comes with its own set of medical needs and financial responsibilities. You can imagine how stressful this is for her family. Ariana\u2019s family needs help! The financial burden alone of having a critically ill child is overwhelming. Mom will be missing work while Ariana is traveling back and forth to appointments and heart transplant follow up visits and procedures. The transplant center is currently 150 miles from their home and Ariana has already had an 8-month hospital stay and now has numerous appointments for transplant-related follow-up and medical procedures. Ariana\u2019s family needs to focus on her mental and physical wellbeing, not being burdened over financial matters at this time. This is why they have partnered with the Children\u2019s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) for assistance with transplant-related expenses.
