After nearly 3 years, we finally have a transplant date set! A time that used to feel like it was lightyears away is quickly approaching. We are super excited and obviously nervous. Because there\u2019s not a dialysis and transplant physician close by, we will be traveling to Nashville for his kidney transplant as well as staying there for six weeks or so. Both sets of grandparents will be traveling with us to help care for Bear and myself in our journey of recovery and healing. We may even have an extra set of hands who will be caring for Jude while Bear and I are in the hospital.

Our main objective right now is just to stay healthy. We have decided as a family to step away from the public in an attempt to limit exposure to viruses and colds. We know it\u2019s not a perfect system, but we\u2019ve never been this close to transplant before so we are trying to do the best we can considering. Many people think that we are probably crazy and they don\u2019t understand it but at the end of the day we\u2019re just trying to get closer to a better quality of life for Bear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a few weeks, Bear and I will undergo our final pre op testing to confirm that he and I are still a compatible match. If you don\u2019t mind, please be praying for our compatibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
