On July 8, Caitlynn’s road to recovery started with lab work and multiple follow up appointments this morning. Caitlynn and her supportive younger sister are always excited to go to the \u201chospital\u201d traffic jam (NOT) for Labs this morning that will put us behind, fun times. You get up at 5:30 am, fight Charlotte traffic, get to hospital, and wait for the Phlebotomist to walk out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cait’s doing great. She has been a little on the lethargic side the past few days but nothing too concerning. This still feels like a dream. I can\u2019t put into words how different Caitlynn is now she has a new Liver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(July 12) Caitlynn is continuing to do awesome one-month post-transplant. We are doing labs and appointments weekly, so far so good. The only concerns so far surround getting her numbers correct with medication. She is taking anti-rejection medications. The doctors are having a difficult time getting her levels right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a combination of a few things: Other medications, new growth in her body, and the amount of food she is now eating. In the past she would hardly eat as her belly was mostly spleen and cirrhotic liver<\/a>. This is nothing too concerning so far. We take it one day at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caitlynn’s road to recovery was made easier by another Rockstar, my oldest daughter, who has been part of this journey. I had the privilege of having dinner with this beautiful young woman last week and we shared some much-needed bonding time. Words cannot express how proud I am of her, in spite all the challenges she faces suck as graduating school, navigating the trials of early adulthood, and her sister\u2019s recent operation. She continues to shine with a heart of gold. Thank you very much. We love you, Trinity Blake<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
