{"id":18,"date":"2023-02-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cota1.wpengine.com\/cotaforchloe\/2023\/02\/12\/a-sudden-change\/"},"modified":"2023-02-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-02-12T00:00:00","slug":"a-sudden-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforchloe\/2023\/02\/12\/a-sudden-change\/","title":{"rendered":"A Sudden Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"imgRight\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2246\/images\/IMG_0419.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/>I feel like I need to give an update because a lot changed since my last post about my surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Pt. 2 of my arm fistula surgery is still scheduled for the 24th however after a visit with my nephrologist he felt it was time to get the chest catheter to start dialysis before that access would be done healing. It&rsquo;s pretty clear regardless of what I say that I am run down and out of gas to keep doing things my way. The chest port is a can I&rsquo;ve been kicking down the road since before Christmas, and it has finally caught up to me. <br \/>Things moved pretty quickly from there and they had it scheduled for 3 days later. <br \/>So here we are- I start dialysis on Tuesday, Valentine&rsquo;s Day. Four-hour treatments, four days a week. And I&rsquo;m a bit sideways about my new look. People like to stare in stores, some even ask questions. I can&rsquo;t take a normal shower because of the risk of an infection going straight to my heart so I am now using it as an excuse to splurge on blowouts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So that&rsquo;s my update.<\/p>\n<p>I miss seeing all of your friendly faces, and just because I am stuck at the dialysis clinic doesn&rsquo;t mean my phone doesn&rsquo;t work.
