Hi, I’m Dash, in July 2020 I received a kidney transplant less than two months before my second birthday.  A paired exchange was planned where my Dad donated a kidney to an unknown recipient and two days later I received a kidney from an altruistic donor.  <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Although a kidney transplant is not a cure, it is the treatment that will best improve my health. I’ve begun and will continue taking expensive medications including anti-rejection\/immuno-suppressant medications which I will continue throughout my lifetime. The life span of a transplanted organ varies and it is expected that this will not be my only transplant during my life. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. Volunteers in Utah are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like me.  <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
