{"id":6,"date":"2021-09-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cota1.wpengine.com\/cotafordevonstransplant\/2021\/09\/19\/devon-update-sept-19-2021\/"},"modified":"2021-09-19T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-09-19T00:00:00","slug":"devon-update-sept-19-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotafordevonstransplant\/2021\/09\/19\/devon-update-sept-19-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Devon Update -Sept 19, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">It was recently discovered Devon is beginning to show early signs of malnutrition.&nbsp; These include thinning hair, low energy levels, etc.&nbsp; Because of these symptoms, the medical team, through frequent blood draws, is constantly monitoring and adjusting the vitamin, mineral, and protein levels in the daily PICC line feeding process.<\/p>\n<p>Devon&#8217;s nutrition levels also have been calorically adjusted so she can lose another 15 pounds before she is added to the transplant list.&nbsp; Past cases for this type of transplant tend to move quickly once the patient is put on the list.&nbsp; Devon&rsquo;s doctors want her to be in the best physical condition possible for surgery.
