Over the past week, Ella has gone through intense chemotherapy to wipe out her immune system and unhealthy cells to make home for the donor\u2019s healthy cells. Today, she receives her donor cells \u2014 her new start, her second birthday. \ud83c\udf82

These healthy cells will make their way into her bloodstream through her central line (just like a blood transfusion). Then, over the next few weeks, they\u2019ll travel to her bone marrow and begin the amazing process of growing and making new, healthy blood cells.

The days ahead are critical as her body begins to accept the new cells and rebuild her immune system. \ufffc
