It continues to be busy but we try to find time to have some fun too. Although she continues to be soooo very strong and brave and tough\u2026 some days\/weeks seem easier than others. For Emmy, this week has felt really hard and the end is still feeling far away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuesday Emmy got her NJ tube replaced. They were able to do it successfully and moved it to her right side so the left cheek can finish healing up. We started some of the pre-surgery diabetes education this week as well. Although Jarret and I have been through this information before, it\u2019s all fairly new for Emmy. She\u2019s doing a great job of taking it all in and asking really great questions. School wise she\u2019s doing awesome. We are doing some fun projects. Emmy got some caterpillars so we can watch them go through the process of turning into beautiful butterflies! They should be ready to release before we leave for Cincy. This weekend, Jarret and Emmy will use the math she\u2019s been working on (measuring, conversions, fractions, etc) to build a bird house! We will share pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emmy is VERY into going squishy hunting at the moment so she\u2019s been working hard and getting to go hunting in return! We FINALLLLLY found a Needoh this week so we agreed we can now take a hunting break for a little bit. Last weekend, Emmy and I had an \u201cEmmy\/Mommy date\u201d to see the Charolette\u2019s Web play in downtown Austin. It was great. She loved it. She got to meet the cast afterwards as well! Today she got to do a zoom call with some of her school friends during their lunch hour and she loved getting to catch up with them. A lot of talk about middle school and what classes they are all taking!! It\u2019s was fun to listen in. Today also included a \u201cspa day\u201d where we went to get her hair cut and her nails done. She opted for some new bangs and \u201cis in love with them\u201d!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This next week will be filled with more appointments, more diabetes education and starting to pack for Cincinnati. We have a follow up appointment with her pain team. I don\u2019t expect much to change with this appointment. I feel like the meds she is on are doing the job for the most part, and Tylenol\/Ibuprofen are helping when she needs a little more. She will be getting her last vaccine this week as well. It\u2019s the 2nd dose of the meningitis quad vaccine. This one is a little painful for her little muscles. Lastly, she will also have her last spine appointment and X-ray to get an idea of where her curve is at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
