She got 2 of her 3 chest tubes out, a couple of medications weaned, neck catheter removed, and breathing tube out! She was more awake and alert, but also so exhausted from all of today\u2019s events. She is on oxygen to help give her some extra support now while her body is taking on the work of breathing. She remains stable. Kidney numbers are not great but they are trending in a better direction. Tomorrow, the plan is to keep weaning meds, start tube feeds very slowly, and get her sitting up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are so glad to see her awake now, but it is hard to watch her in discomfort and pain. She also wants to talk but her voice is hoarse from the breathing tube coming out. She wants water, but she can\u2019t drink yet. She doesn\u2019t understand what all is happening and why. It\u2019s scary for her and emotionally difficult for all of us. Yet, it is so exciting to think of how her life will be different and better now. We look forward to all the life she will get to enjoy because of this special heart gift. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div
