Some of those things were an unfavorable x-ray and echo, hyperglycemia caused by steroids (but she has to have those right now because of certain other factors), difficulty getting fluid off her lungs and lower oxygen sats. So we moved back over to the CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) and her cath that was scheduled for Friday is now TODAY instead. Around 2 PM Ela will go for that cath where they will look at the heart more in-depth to see what might be going on and to also get a biopsy to test for rejection. Right now, she is hooked back up to several IV meds and wearing oxygen. It hurts everyone going 1 step forward, 2 steps back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ela endured so many pokes over the last several days. Yesterday was especially gruesome. It\u2019s horrible to watch and I\u2019m sure even more awful for her to keep having to go through what seems like constant poking and prodding. We are standing there helpless\u2026wanting to take her pain but can\u2019t as she screams and cries out, \u201cHelp me Mommy. Help me Papa\u201d while then telling the person prodding, \u201cStop, stop it. It hurts.\u201dShe will unfortunately be getting even more pokes because of her glucose thing now and possibly insulin injections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These days are hard; but as hard as they are we are hopeful that better days are ahead\u2026Lord willing, more days with our heart warrior princess because of her heart hero.
