<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a day of travel and procedures yesterday, we are exhaling a\u00a0sigh of relief. There were no surprises and Jacob’s procedure went smoothly.\u00a0 The left side of Jake\u2019s heart\u00a0 is still a bit stiff, but they reassured us this is completely expected at this stage of recovery. We are confident it will continue to improve as he gets further out from transplant. The initial biopsy results showed no signs of rejection! We expect the final results by Monday to confirm these results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of his planned 3-month post-transplant care, the team has added another anti-rejection. This wasn’t due to any concerns, but rather a standard step in his long-term recovery plan. They also adjusted other meds to line up with his labs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The post cath testing did show a few “extra beats” in his heart rhythm. Because a biopsy involves\u00a0“poking” the heart,this is not uncommon. To be safe, he\u2019s wearing a 24-hour heart monitor at home so the doctors can keep a close eye on things but they are not overly concerned.\u00a0 If this was something dangerous or concerning, they would not have sent him home with just a monitor. We should have the results from the monitor in about two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the long day in St. Louis, Jake is right back to his therapies this morning. However, he hasn’t lost his negotiating skills! He\u2019s currently trying to lobbing his way out of homework this afternoon, claiming a quiet afternoon is “just what he needs to recover” from yesterday\u2019s procedure.\u00a0 You have to give him points for creativity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are so incredibly thankful to God for these continued answered prayers and for our village who continues to rallying behind us during the grind phase of recovery.  We couldn’t do this without you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
