For families like Jaime\u2019s, liver disease isn\u2019t something we recognize for just one month. It has become part of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaime was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare liver disease that affects infants and is the most common reason children need liver transplants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At just seven months old, Jaime is already on the transplant waiting list, waiting for the liver that will give him his second chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout October, we\u2019re going to share a little more about biliary atresia, pediatric liver transplant, organ donation, COTA and most importantly, the little boy behind all of these words and medical terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because to us, liver disease has a face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And his name is Jaime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
