We knew from the beginning, in ureto, his left kidney was not functioning at all and he had an obstruction outside of his right kidney that was blocking all function and not allowing it to develop normally. Due to this problem, Jameson barely had any amniotic fluid, but he was ready to meet the world. He arrived as a surprise 5 weeks early. His father and I were elated but we would have never imagined what our tiny little baby would have to endure. From intubation, to a helicopter ride, various heart catheterizations, a g-tube, PICC lines, nephrostomy tubes, and too many surgeries to count, he “graduated” from the NICU after 86 days.

Jameo was in and out of the hospital, and still is, for days to weeks at a time. He keeps us all on our toes and definitely has some rough days ahead, but every morning he lights up our lives with his little smile. He is as happy as can be and no one would ever know there is anything wrong with him.

He currently receives peritoneal dialysis every night while he sleeps as he awaits a match for his kidney transplant.

We are so grateful for all of the love we have received thus far. We would be lost without our family and friends, and our lives certainly would not be the same without our little Jameo.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses.
