{"id":44,"date":"2018-12-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cota1.wpengine.com\/cotaforjasperd\/2018\/12\/17\/heart-catheter\/"},"modified":"2018-12-17T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-12-17T00:00:00","slug":"heart-catheter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforjasperd\/2018\/12\/17\/heart-catheter\/","title":{"rendered":"Heart Catheter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jasper had two tests performed on December 10, 2018 at Primary Children&#8217;s Hospital in Salt Lake City.&nbsp; The two tests consisted of a heart catheter and a biopsy.&nbsp; The heart catheter tests to see how well Jasper&#8217;s new heart is functioning,&nbsp; It determines the internal heart pressure and the functioning of the valves and vessels.&nbsp; The results of this test showed that Jasper&#8217;s new heart is functioning very well with only a minor leak of one of his mitral valves.&nbsp; His doctor&#8217;s are hoping this slight problem will decrease over time.&nbsp; The biopsy determines how well Jasper&#8217;s new heart is doing relative to being accepted by his immune system. This type of test will have to be repeated periodically.&nbsp; The results of the biopsy showed that Jasper&#8217;s heart is slightly irritated.&nbsp; His doctor&#8217;s believe this irritation can be alleviated by making adjustments to Jasper&#8217;s medications.
