Her life changed in late December &#8211; a healthy teenager hunting with her dad when she had a seizure. She spent 11 days at Manning Children\u2019s Hospital, in New Orleans, where she started emergency dialysis for end stage renal disease. Through the weeks we discovered she has a genetic condition of her complement system (CfI) that shut down her kidneys. It\u2019s an ultra-rare condition. Her treatments are very expensive but help control her overactive immune system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently she is being reviewed for transplant at Texas Children\u2019s in Houston. Her sister has matched and will be donating her kidney this fall. Meandering aHUS diagnosis and needing a transplant has been difficult, but Lily is driven to enjoy today and fight for tomorrow.
