Luis Torres (LJ)<\/strong> is a twelve-year-old enthusiastic young man who loves his family and is always looking to make new friends. At only 12 years of age, LJ’s greatest desire is to live a normal life, and his greatest wish is to be able to play football and be part of a team. But unfortunately, his metabolic disorder prevents him from achieving his dreams. When LJ was born, he was diagnosed with a metabolic disorder that affected the muscles, especially the heart. At nine years old, LJ was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, and three years later, his heart stopped pumping enough blood to his organs, having LJ fighting for his life and awaiting a heart transplant. Thank God: the opportunity of a lifetime is knocking at his door with the ability to get a heart transplant that will provide him with the strength to live a normal life, and probably be able to play football for his school and feel part of his generation. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA)<\/strong> helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.<\/p>\n

Luis Torres (LJ)<\/strong> es un joven de doce años que ama a su familia y le gusta hacer nuevos amigos. Con tan solo 12 años, el mayor deseo de LJ es vivir una vida normal, y su mayor deseo es poder jugar al fútbol y ser parte de un equipo. Pero, lamentablemente, su trastorno metabólico le impide alcanzar sus sueños. Cuando nació LJ, le diagnosticaron con un trastorno metabólico que afectaba los músculos, especialmente el corazón. A los nueve años, a LJ le diagnosticaron con una miocardiopatía y, a los tres años, su corazón dejó de bombear suficiente sangre a sus órganos, mientras LJ luchaba por su vida y esperaba un trasplante de corazón. Gracias a Dios: le llego una oportunidad unica en su vida con la posibilidad de recibir un trasplante de corazón que le dará la fuerza para vivir una vida normal, y probablemente poder jugar al fútbol para su colegio y sentirse parte de su generación.
