Trusting God Through Another Unexpected Storm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just a few days ago, we were celebrating being in our temporary home and focusing on recovery after Magnolia\u2019s fifth round of chemotherapy. We knew the days following treatment could be difficult, but nothing prepared us for how quickly things would change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, Magnolia began developing the side effects that often follow chemotherapy. We watched her closely, hoping it was simply her little body responding to treatment. By Sunday evening, everything changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of nowhere Sunday night, Magnolia began experiencing nonstop vomiting and diarrhea. After speaking with her on-call medical team, they instructed us to head to the emergency room immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since arriving at the hospital, the doctors have been working tirelessly to care for our sweet girl. We were told that we would need to be admitted for transfusions but then things escalated even more. Blood work and X-rays revealed that Magnolia\u2019s hemoglobin and electrolyte levels had dropped significantly. As the hours passed, her condition became more concerning. She began having difficulty with her breathing and developed an abnormal heart rhythm, requiring even closer medical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magnolia is now in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where she is being monitored around the clock. The medical team continues to run tests to determine exactly what is causing her condition and why her little body has become so sick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As parents, moments like these are incredibly difficult. Watching your child fight battle after battle is something no family ever imagines. Yet even in the middle of the uncertainty, we are reminded that God has carried Magnolia through every step of this journey. He has been faithful before, and we believe He will continue to be faithful now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We humbly ask for your prayers. Please pray for wisdom for every doctor and nurse caring for Magnolia, that they would quickly find the source of what is making her so ill. Pray that her hemoglobin and electrolytes stabilize, that her breathing and heart rhythm return to normal, and that her precious little body begins to heal. Most of all, pray that God\u2019s peace would surround our family as we continue to trust Him one day at a time.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for loving Magnolia, praying for her, and walking alongside our family. Your encouragement means more than words can express.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hace apenas unos d\u00edas est\u00e1bamos agradecidos de poder instalarnos en nuestro hogar temporal y enfocados en la recuperaci\u00f3n de Magnolia despu\u00e9s de su quinto ciclo de quimioterapia. Sab\u00edamos que los d\u00edas posteriores al tratamiento pod\u00edan ser dif\u00edciles, pero nada nos prepar\u00f3 para lo r\u00e1pido que cambiar\u00edan las cosas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El viernes, Magnolia comenz\u00f3 a presentar los efectos secundarios que suelen aparecer despu\u00e9s de la quimioterapia. La estuvimos observando de cerca, con la esperanza de que simplemente fuera la manera en que su peque\u00f1o cuerpo estaba respondiendo al tratamiento. Pero para la noche del domingo, todo cambi\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De repente, el domingo por la noche, Magnolia comenz\u00f3 a tener v\u00f3mitos y diarrea sin parar. Despu\u00e9s de hablar con el equipo m\u00e9dico de guardia, nos indicaron que fu\u00e9ramos de inmediato a la sala de emergencias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde que llegamos al hospital, los m\u00e9dicos han estado trabajando incansablemente para cuidar de nuestra peque\u00f1a. Al principio nos informaron que necesitar\u00eda ser hospitalizada para recibir transfusiones de sangre, pero su condici\u00f3n se complic\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente. Los an\u00e1lisis de sangre y las radiograf\u00edas mostraron que sus niveles de hemoglobina y electrolitos hab\u00edan disminuido considerablemente. Conforme pasaban las horas, su estado se volvi\u00f3 a\u00fan m\u00e1s preocupante. Comenz\u00f3 a presentar dificultad para respirar y desarroll\u00f3 un ritmo card\u00edaco anormal, por lo que ahora requiere un monitoreo y atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica a\u00fan m\u00e1s estrechos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magnolia se encuentra ahora en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pedi\u00e1tricos (PICU), donde est\u00e1 siendo monitoreada las 24 horas del d\u00eda. El equipo m\u00e9dico contin\u00faa realizando estudios para determinar exactamente qu\u00e9 est\u00e1 causando su condici\u00f3n y por qu\u00e9 su peque\u00f1o cuerpo se ha enfermado tanto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como padres, momentos como estos son incre\u00edblemente dif\u00edciles. Ver a tu hija luchar batalla tras batalla es algo que ninguna familia imagina vivir. Sin embargo, aun en medio de la incertidumbre, recordamos que Dios ha sostenido fielmente a Magnolia en cada paso de este camino. \u00c9l ha sido fiel hasta aqu\u00ed, y confiamos en que seguir\u00e1 si\u00e9ndolo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les pedimos humildemente que contin\u00faen orando por Magnolia. Oren para que Dios d\u00e9 sabidur\u00eda a cada m\u00e9dico y enfermero que la est\u00e1 atendiendo, y para que puedan identificar r\u00e1pidamente la causa de lo que la est\u00e1 enfermando. Oren para que sus niveles de hemoglobina y electrolitos se estabilicen, que su respiraci\u00f3n y su ritmo card\u00edaco vuelvan a la normalidad, y que su precioso cuerpecito comience a recuperarse. Sobre todo, oren para que la paz de Dios rodee a nuestra familia mientras seguimos aprendiendo a confiar en \u00c9l, un d\u00eda a la vez.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
