Our Story

Hi my name is Matthew,

I’m 21 years old, and I’m living in Cleveland, Ohio, waiting for an intestinal transplant.

I’ve had gut problems all my life. I was 18 when I was finally diagnosed with a genetic disease MMIHS.

Over the past couple of years, my condition has gotten worse. All of my small intestines have been removed. To prevent further damage of my internal organs a transplant is needed.

My hope is that this transplant will lessen my hospital stays and give me a new life.

There are some days when I struggle and feel like there is not much hope. But, despite all the ups and downs, I remain positive.

There are many costs that are not covered by insurance. I am partnering with COTA where 100% of the proceeds raised from fundraising will benefit COTA in my honor to assist with transplant-related expenses.

Thank you for your support!
Matthew

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
