Things have taken a small turn, and while it\u2019s a mix of emotions, we\u2019re excited and  hopeful for what\u2019s ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-deanna-s-donor-update\">\ud83c\udfe5 Deanna&#8217;s Donor Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My kidney donor testing is taking a bit longer to complete than we originally expected. While we continue down that path, we\u2019ve made the decision to officially <strong>list Maverick for a deceased donor kidney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He will be <strong>eligible starting Tuesday<\/strong> \u2014 and once he\u2019s listed, that means we could receive <strong>\u201cthe call\u201d at any time, day or night.<\/strong> When that moment comes, we\u2019ll have just four hours to get to Phoenix (a 3.5-hour drive from home).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-this-means\">\ud83d\udcac What This Means<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s possible that Maverick could get a match the very day he\u2019s listed\u2026 but it could also take more time. We\u2019re preparing for both scenarios \u2014 whether a donor kidney becomes available quickly or I finish my own testing and (God willing) become his living donor match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No matter which path it takes, we are trusting in God\u2019s perfect timing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-behind-the-scenes-how-we-re-preparing\">\ud83e\udded Behind the Scenes: How We\u2019re Preparing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Maverick and I have our usual &#8220;hospital&#8221; bags packed and are ready to go.  <br><br>Because we could get a call at any time, we will be extra cautious about Maverick staying healthy.   Any cold (even a hint of sniffles and a runny nose)  to the flu makes him inactive on the list for 2 weeks\/ until healthy.    With it being cold and flu season, and lots of other kids around, we&#8217;re doing all the things keep everyone healthy as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-standing-in-faith\">\ud83d\ude4f Standing in Faith<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We know without a doubt that <strong>God can do amazing things.<\/strong> We\u2019re excited for the possibility of Maverick receiving a new kidney soon, but we look forward to this part of his  story unfolding exactly the way it\u2019s meant to&#8230; and in true Maverick fashion, I&#8217;m sure it will be wild and wonderful.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re deeply grateful for every single prayer, word of encouragement and financial support of COTA for Maverick&#8217;s Kidney from you all.
