Those <strong>funds have been used<\/strong>&nbsp;for Mia&#8217;s transplant-related expenses throughout the years and there&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">very little<\/span> left.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When Mia&#8217;s mom, Shasta, contacted COTA to let them know about Mia&#8217;s upcoming kidney transplant, Rick Lofgren, COTA President &amp; CEO, set a <strong>new goal of $125,000<\/strong> to better reflect what they believe&nbsp;will be actual costs going forward and in consideration of what had already been raised 13 years ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We have over $45,000 more to raise <\/strong>to cover expenses this time around<strong>.<\/strong> Let&#8217;s keep this fundraiser alive!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for your support!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The fundraising goal set in 2005 when Mia was first diagnosed was $50,000, and with the tremendous support of volunteers, family, friends and strangers &ndash; we raised $76,404!
