Miracle received her new liver July 6,2025. The surgery itself took 8 hours , due to the severity of her surgery she needed a day to rest to completely restore her body before finishing her surgery on July 8th. They had to sew her intestines ,create bile ducts and insert a new GTube. Miracle initially did well and graduated from the PICU Day 5. Unfortunately Day 6 , was met with complications, swelling, and unmanaged pain. Doctors tried to prepare us for the journey post liver transplant but no one can truly prepare us with what challenges Miracle would have in the days and weeks ahead. Miracle has overcame many hurdles thanks to God and medical team. Miracle did however suffer a punctured cardiovascular terry with caused swelling in lymph nodes which made it impossible for her to receive proper nutrition not to mention she was not voiding , soon the fevers , multiple blood draws which led to another blood transfusion. I can\u2019t forget the antibiotic that caused her bottom to bluster, I could really go on and on but I\u2019m sure you can get the picture that it hasn\u2019t been easy. Miracle has been living up to her name and never ceases to amaze me. Her fight is contagious and her smile helps us day to day. We still are at the hospital in hopes of a discharge date but we know the journey is far from over. Today they put in a port because they will be drawing labs twice a week for the first 6 months to a year and her body can\u2019t handle much more of the pills and sticks they need something more permanent to help make her journey smoother. We will more than likely be resulting to mask this first year to ensure she remains healthy. We thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time.
