Hello,<\/p>\n

Today (Sunday) marks four months since Miranda received her new heart.  It does not seem possible that it has been that long.  Time does seem to go by quickly at times.  We hope that you are all doing well.  Our family is doing fine.  It has been way too long since we have sent an update, and we apologize for that;  We know that everyone wants to know how things are going.<\/p>\n

Since the last update that we sent on May 24, we have made one trip to Seattle.  On June 8, Miranda had a heart catheterization.  The procedure went well and the doctors said that everything looked good.  They were happy with where her pressures were at and with how the blood was flowing.  They also took a biopsy of Miranda’s heart at the same time and the results came back okay on it.  The doctors are continuing to try and get Miranda’s white blood cell count to come up by adjusting her medications.  The last time she had a blood draw, the level came back at a 2.8.  This was up from a 1.8 the time before.  The doctors are wanting the level to be above a 3.0, so she is almost there.<\/div>\n

Miranda’s next appointments are on Tuesday, July 11, so we will be headed to Seattle Monday afternoon.  She will see the cardiology team on Tuesday and then she has an appointment with the pulmonary doctors on Wednesday in Federal Way.  We will get the results of the sleep study tests on Wednesday.  Unfortunately, Brittany will not be able to go with us because she has to work.  Also, we did not realize when we set our appointments that the Major League Baseball All-Star game will be taking place in Seattle on Tuesday evening.  So things may be busy in Seattle while we are there.<\/div>\n
