Friends, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So much amazing progress has been made over the past week. Miranda has continued to regain more and more mobility as the week has gone on \u2014 and today, she even began to do some speech therapy. The Speech Therapist was working w\/ Miranda on saying \u201cah\u201d, \u201cee\u201d, \u201ceh\u201d, and \u201coh\u201d (vowel sounds) and also \u201cbah\u201d and \u201cmah\u201d (B & M consonant sounds). Miranda even worked to say \u201cI love you\u201d for Joel multiple times today and to tell a few of us \u201chi.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last Tuesday is when we received the encouraging news that Miranda was raising her eyebrows and opening\/closing her eyes on command. That was just 7 days ago, but since then she has also begun to wiggle her toes, regain some head\/neck movement along with some expressions, lifting her arms about 8 inches in the bed, and now working on speech therapy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nurses passed along that they are confident that the next week will see huge advances in speech and mobility based on the progress over the last few days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This all comes as an answer to prayer, and I would invite you to continue to pray! Anyone who knows Miranda knows that she is focused and that she works hard \u2014 one thing that has been increasingly apparent to me throughout this process is just how much work she is having to do every step of the way. Let\u2019s pray for continued endurance, motivation, and healing for Miranda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, I just want to say thank you to everyone for all of the support they\u2019ve been offering to the Rockeys. Whether it be praying for them, visiting Miranda\/Joel, shuttling Nolan\/Olivia to and from multiple things \u2014 thank you.
