Our dandelion girl is 1 year old!!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

To say that we are grateful for her life is an understatement. There were many months that I feared we wouldn’t get to celebrate this monumental birthday. But here we are, and I’ve never been so happy to see a disastrous mess of cake crumbs and frosting all over my dining room floor.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Today has been full of heavy, opposing emotions.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
We are beyond thankful that Moriah is thriving and doing so well. However, we are processing all that’s happened during her first year of life.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
I personally have had to grieve the loss of so many things.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
When I was pregnant with Moriah, we knew she was our last baby. I was so excited to truly cherish all the things like breastfeeding, baby wearing, and newborn snuggles.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do those things and I’ve spent most of her first year of life processing and grieving these losses.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
It’s been a heavy year and instead of enjoying her newborn months, we spent most of it terrified FOR her life. I know this might seem like a dark post for a first birthday, but I just have to be honest.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
So many other #medicalmamas<\/a> are out there in the trenches and I want them to know they’re not alone.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This #medicalmama<\/a> life is really hard.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I’m so thankful for a savior that hears my prayers and sees my tears. I’m thankful for the hope we have in Jesus. Moriah was born with a purpose.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Some days it’s hard to truly understand it, and the desire to have a “normal” baby hurts.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

BUT, I know that she came into this world to change lives and give God all the glory.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
