My went down on the amount of oxygen needed significantly and changed back to the lower flow of nasal cannula. They had reduced their fluid build up. They walked all the way to the door, and sat in the chair for a full hour hours. While that part made them nauseous and their blood pressure dropped significantly, it was still less than yesterday and the first day. We always have to pause after they sit up to let the blood pressure catch up. It\u2019s a smaller staff for the holiday weekend, and of course, My wanted to get up while the nurse was on lunch. So the fill-in nurse and I got My up and out of the chair. I felt so bad. I offered to help on my own because it\u2019s really a multiple person job with all the lines, machines, and ensuring My doesn\u2019t fall. Along the side one of the drains got missed, fell, and gave a good painful tug on My\u2019s belly. Then the IV lines were heavy on them too. They were just so uncomfortable. Thankfully there were enough on board when My was ready to go back that 4 people (definitely a much more appropriate number for the job) helped get them in bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They got to have a sugar-free Luigi\u2019s ice pop, their first cups of water, and even some lemonade. They had been waiting for that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mylinsangrypancreas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6594.jpg?w=768\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-194\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They have slept a lot today. No sleep talking. Just quiet rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their eyes are finally starting to focus. They watched some Spider-Man (their fave) and played some games on the iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mylinsangrypancreas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6605.jpg?w=768\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-195\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They had some oxygen upset in the middle of the day. Nothing like a couple nights ago. My sounds congested, and it sounds like that\u2019s where it\u2019s coming from. It\u2019s still hard for them to do a good throat clear or cough so that makes it difficult for it to clear out. (Any of us who have had an abdominal surgery or a baby knows how that goes). However, when they are able, it helps the oxygen return to normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My started running a fever just an hour or two ago. The team ordered tests right away. The X-ray team also came in promptly and got images as well. They are going to remove the catheter, so they can get a clean catch and test for infection there. They\u2019re doing other tests to check for infections throughout the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mylinsangrypancreas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6611.jpg?w=768\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-196\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We went from holding onto fluid, to where the heck is that fluid coming from?! For over 24 hours all of the drain lines have been collecting a largely abnormal amount of fluid. The fluid still looks normal color\/texture wise, but is a lot. They are also running tests to figure that out. They had cut back on diuretics already, but volume output hasn\u2019t changed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recoveries are bumpy. The days started out so good.
