Our incredible nurse, Maria, sat right next to the bed and kept an eye all night. The nurse said My talked a lot in their sleep\/through the night, and was saying just really funny stuff like \u201cBro! Look at their teeth. That\u2019s all you need to know.\u201d \u201cTell all the pugs in the world I love them.\u201dLol. I am so glad they were finally able to get some good rest. I think we all slept well last night. Daniel said it was the best he\u2019s slept in the hospital. To say we all needed it would be an understatement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some really encouraging things this morning. My did well with oxygen through the night and has gotten a decent amount of excess fluids out of their body. They want to try weaning oxygen again. The nurse just now changed out the high flow to the lowest level of nasal cannula. My will be very thankful for that, because that high flow nose piece was the bane of their existence yesterday. It was making them so frustrated. Also, wish oxygen and getting those lungs stronger, they want to start leaving the incentives spirometer in the bed and having My do that as much as possible throughout the day rather than just here and there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My is tolerating the feeds through the G-J Tube really well. They want to increase the feeds today. They also ok\u2019d My for a liquid diet. They got to have their cup of water finally!! The feeds, or course, have called for some slight insulin changes. Otherwise, My\u2019s blood sugars have been really stable with just small amounts of insulin. (As most of you probably know, the loss of the pancreas causes insulin dependency. A type of diabetes called type 3C. There\u2019s still a chance the islets will work their magic in the liver over the coming months\/year, and then My wouldn\u2019t need insulin\/would need less.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team wants to possibly get the catheter out today. This, of course, would increase the need to move around. Which leads to their next request. They want My to also move around more. I mentioned last night to our night nurse (who was ON IT amazing) that I thought the day girlies were a bit hesitant to have my go further. She was like oh absolutely not, we are putting it in our notes for them to get My going further. So today My will try to reach the door at least before they get to recline for an hour or two. If the catheter does come on, and in combination with the diuretics, this will definitely mean needing to get up more to go to the bathroom. Movement is needed for proper and faster healing, but My may not be ready to head all the way to the bathroom every time. That\u2019s where a portable commode comes in, so when that catheter comes out a portable commode will move in bedside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My got to have their first hospitalization session of dog therapy. I think they wouldn\u2019t have minded if it lasted longer, but still they were so happy to get some puppy love!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mylinsangrypancreas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_7633.jpg?w=768\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-191\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My had a much better night last night.
