My was in a decent amount of pain last night, and it kept them tossing and turning till early hours even with meds. It\u2019s mostly the tummy tube (internal) and their back behind it that\u2019s bothering them. I\u2019m not sure if it was the pain or the night time diabetes scaries that had us chasing highs for a bit. We gave a bolus, and nothing changed. I happened to be texting Daniel (since it is 3 hours earlier back home) and he mentioned that getting up and around for a couple minutes can help insulin get through the system better. That did the trick and at least the blood sugars stayed really normal through the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our only appointment today was with physical therapy and not until 3:15pm. I knew Mylin needed rest and I also didn\u2019t want to poop them out before they did their PT, so I let them sleep in pretty late. I think I am achieving my adjust them to West Coast time goals. When they woke up they were craving pancakes, so we found a diner that looked like it would scratch that itch. We were stressing together about carbs, until My noticed that this diner happened to have nutrition facts online. We nailed the bolus and controlled the blood sugars awesomely. After eating, we headed back for a little over an hour of downtime before the appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My did great at the appointment and exceeded all the work they did last week. They were a bit higher on whatever they call the exhaustion scale at the end of this session vs. the last one though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the appointment My wanted to do something, but was torn between the bougie mall or the state fair. In a, as I see it, much more fitting to My\u2019s personality choice, we ended up at the state fair. Only $13 for entry! What?! So cheap! $10 for parking. Crazy. We\u2019re not in San Diego anymore lol. I pushed My in the wheelchair. I thought I was so sly and had gotten the best secret parking spot right up front, only to realize I had parked at the complete opposite end of the parking lot. It\u2019s OK though I needed the exercise. I smiled at myself as I saw wheelchair rentals were $30 at the front of the fair. Another fee saved with my FB Marketplace find! We learned something new about blood sugar today. Apparently extreme heat makes Mylin\u2019s blood sugars rise. It makes sense because pain makes their blood sugar rise, and Mylin is extremely heat sensitive. (It was so freaking hot outside!!) After it\u2019d been on the rise for a decent amount of time, and before we had realized this was the only reason it was going up, we gave a bolus. Only to shortly after be alerted that the blood sugar was coming down very fast. Too fast. Ice cream it is! Thankfully, those carbs hit the system pretty quickly and Mylin evened out completely. Diabetes be always keeping you on your toes. Here we were at the little piggy races, trying to pull out all the goods, prick fingers and figure everything out. Eye eye eye\u2026. Mylin loved all of the animals. We started the day with the piggy races. Then we did the petting zoo, and walked all of the livestock barns. Mylin was in animal heaven! We browsed until my hairstylist wrists could not push the wheelchair through anymore animal bedding so it was time to head back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
