I truly love reading your comments and well wishes, they mean more than I can express.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wanted to share a brief update on Nahla. Her most recent biopsy did show some continued rejection and scarring in her liver, which unfortunately meant returning to prednisone. Steroids are very hard on her and cause significant anxiety and behavioral changes, making it difficult for her to feel like herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After sharing my concerns with her medical team, they were able to switch her to a new medication, a synthetic steroid with fewer systemic effects. It has only been a few days, but I can already see a difference and feel like I have my girl back. I\u2019m incredibly grateful they were able to find an alternative that she tolerates better while still providing the protection her liver needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nahla is also getting very excited for Christmas. We\u2019ll be spending the holiday with my brother\u2019s family and Nahla\u2019s cousins, which she\u2019s really looking forward to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you again to everyone who has donated. Your support helped carry us through the first several months in the hospital following her transplant and continued to assist with her insurance premiums, medications, and travel to and from appointments in Kansas City.
