Nora is a champ and has had to have lab draws every day this week. She barely even whimpered at them today. She is more interested in playing with the tubes and the animal crackers she gets afterwards! We have one more lab this week, then 3 next week and after that we drop down to 2x\/week. We are excited! Today Nora had her ultrasound of her next to check on her clot from her line. We are so hopeful that it is gone but if not, just praying it is going down in size. Even if it is gone we will likely have to continue the Lovenox shots for 3 months. We just would have to check in with hematology less often. After the ultrasound, we met with Nora’s GI doctor, Dr S. She was pleased with all of Nora’s labs, her scar, her food and fluid intake. She told us to stop her feeds overnight and we will check her weight next week in clinic. If all is well we get to get rid of the NJ tube!!! But if she happens to pull it out before then that’s fine too. We are thrilled to get rid of the tube but for the few meds Nora doesn’t like the taste of it is really helpful just to put it down the tube and not pick a battle. Nora has been doing really well with her meds. Of the 11 different medications she only doesn’t like 3 of them. They switched one today to see if that helps. The others we need to try mixing in something like pudding. Nora has been eating great. Her appetite is definitely increased from the steroid medication but also just from her feeling better. The last few days she has been drinking more so we hope that stopping feeds overnight increases her thirst a little during the day. Otherwise labs are looking great! No concerns from the team at this time just keeping her healthy. She started PT on Monday this week and OT will start on Friday. We have the same therapists as before transplant. We barely saw the OT prior to transplant and we weren’t very impressed. Hoping this time around goes better. Tomorrow we will see Dr. C. Then next Monday he will take her port out. It is just an outpatient procedure but it’s another trip back to the OR. Praying she continues to do well and get stronger and that her trip back to the OR goes wonderfully. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
It’s been a very busy week of appointments so far for us and it’s not quite over yet.
