Today is another CHALLENGE.

There are very, very few kids (or adults!) that don’t love playing in water, right? Well, with all of his buttons, Oakley wasn’t able to. Pre-transplant, he was only able to splash his feet in the water for play, or maybe have a very little bit on his tray but he had to wear a huge bib to protect all his buttons and keep them dry. Well, post-transplant, he has a little more freedom but still wasn’t able to get his broviac wet. Still, he got to play with water tables and walk around in kiddie pools at the lake. And now that he just got his broviac (temporarily) removed last week – he got his first real bath!!

So today’s challenge is like the first one – but instead of being food-related, it’s going to be water-related. Don’t worry, we aren’t asking you to give up your water – drinking water is important! Instead, we’re challenging you to donate to COTA for Oakley Strong, the cost of your favorite water toy. Be it a floatation device, a water table, a bathtub water-squirting toy, or even a waterpark/pool visit.

https://cota.org/campaigns/COTAforOakleyStrong

#OakleyStrong #OakMan #Oakley #TransplantLife #COTAHope #COTA #Water #WaterPlay #Broviac #PeritonealDialysis #Dialysis #Catheter #BirthdayWeek #Fun #Challenge

Birthday week fun, day FOUR!
